HEAR FROM THE CEO

WELCOME LETTER

Hello, welcome to Keystone Mission!

I am glad you chose to visit our website. Keystone Mission desires to partner with community members, like yourself, to provide HELP and HOPE to men and women experiencing homelessness.

You have three steps to “TAKE ACTION” at the Keystone Mission.

First Step! You can become a volunteer. Come out to the front lines with our staff and work in our Day Center, Mobile Outreach, Emergency Code Blue Shelter, or the upcoming Transformation Center.

Second Step! You can donate financially. 81% of our budget goes directly to programming. We are transparent in our spending. You can give one time or become part of The Foundation Group, a monthly giving program.

Third Step! You can donate goods (food, clothing, and household items). We are always in need of goods that help us do the day-to-day operations. Check our complete list of accepted times and the times/location to drop off.

No matter how you TAKE ACTION, I am grateful you decided to partner with us. You are providing a second chance for men and women to become productive members of society.

Thank you & God bless,

Justin V. Behrens, LSW

CEO & Executive Director

HOW WE TAKE ACTION

OUR PROGRAMS

Emergency Code Blue Shelter

A “Code Blue” alert is issued when the forecasted temperature in Lackawanna County (including wind chills) is expected to reach 20 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If necessary, based on weather conditions, an extension of the alert may be issued.

During a “Code Blue” alert, homeless individuals can access an emergency shelter to provide an intake and develop a need list and goal setting with each individual through our doors.

Mobile Outreach

Keystone Mission “Team Agape” is the outreach program that travels throughout the cities searching for men and women who are broken and homeless. The team’s sole focus is to build relationships and provide “real-time critical care” to the homeless.

Day Center

At 12 West Olive Street, the Day Center is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., ready to build relationships with the guests. Services available are obtaining a Government ID, access to medical appointments, laundry, Biblical Training, Life Skill Training, Self-Care, and more.

Transformation Center

The New 15-bed Transformation Center will provide men in NEPA an opportunity to transform their lives with the goal of becoming restored and productive members of society.

The men who enroll in the center will have access to a private room, clothes, food, and structured programming that will lead them to long-term sustainability and independence. Our desire is for the men to give back after they completed the program and are in a place to live on their own.
