Keystone Mission Young Professional Grant 2022 Finalist

Wilkes-Barre, PA – In February 2022, Keystone Mission applied for the YP Giving Grant to alleviate poverty in Luzerne County. The YP Giving Grant is a collaborative philanthropy program through the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Luzerne Foundation, AllOne Charities, Leadership Northeast, and the Chamber’s Young Professionals Network.

Keystone Mission is one of four finalists in Luzerne County for a $50,000 grant, which would aid the men in the new 15-bed Transformation Center, specifically the Job Readiness Training program.

The Job Readiness Training program is one part of the five-pillar program of the new center located in Wilkes-Barre. This program will introduce residents to opportunities to earn their GED, learn a specific trade, complete an associate degree, or start their journey toward a bachelor’s degree.

Currently, Keystone Mission has partnerships with Luzerne County Community College, CareerLink, the City of Wilkes-Barre, CityVision University, and Derr Enterprises. Between the collaboration of each business and organization, on-the-job training, educational classes, and career support, each resident will graduate with the proper experience to support themselves back in the community.

On Wednesday, October 12th, Keystone Mission will have the opportunity to present the organization and its project that would benefit from the grant at the Woodlands in front of community members, leaders, and other young professionals across Luzerne County.
