ARPA COVID Relief Grant from the City of Scranton Creating More Opportunities

Scranton, PA – In December of 2022, Keystone Mission was awarded a $25,000 grant from the City of Scranton American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Nonprofit Grants Fund in partnership with the Scranton Area Community Foundation. The funding will help replenish the loss of revenue during the Covid-19 pandemic and weather financial hardship brought by the unexpected expenses related to Covid-19.

During the pandemic, Keystone Mission continued its programming with a substantial 42% increase in clientele. During this time, programming such as emergency food distribution and dayroom services increased along with breakfast and lunch meals from our Innovation Center.

The funds will also provide greater opportunities for assisting in obtaining government IDs, transportation, emergency provisions, and job & housing placements by expanding the programs and services. Through our Innovation Center for Homeless & Poverty, more opportunities will be created for outreach and service to individuals experiencing homelessness who are unreached in the community.
